I have been very impressed with the biographies of many of our classmates and am looking
forward to being with many of you this weekend. I have been told that it is about time I submitted
something,so here is my abbreviated version. I have been very fortunate since graduating from U.
City. First and foremost, I met the love of my life, Linda Rimmel, at Washington University when
we were both freshmen in August of 1957. We have been dating ever since and married in 1961.
We have one son,Kenny, who is a successful banker as President of Truman Bank in St. Louis. He
brought us a nderfuldaughter-in-law,Anita, and two wonderful grandson, Danny age 15 and Ben
who is almost 13. We are lucky to have them in St. Louis and living just 10 minutes from us. My
professional life has been satisfying and most enjoyable. I graduated from Washington University
with an undergraduate degree in 1961 and a law degree in 1963. I then spent two years on active
duty in the army. I was primarily stationed at Fort. Lewis Washington near Seattle with the 4th
Infantry Division. For much of that time I was a legal assistance officer in the JAG office. Linda
was with me while in the army and our son was born at Fort Lewis. We returned to St. Louis in
the fall of 1965 and after working as an Assistant St. Louis County Counselor and as an associate
in a labor law firm I joined the predecessor to my present law firm in 1966. I am a managing
partner of our 17 member firm and have had an interesting and varied law career. After
beginning as a trial lawyer my practice has evolved over the years primarily to corporate, probate
and trust law with special emphasis in guardianship and mental health law. I still practice law on
a full time basis and must be doing something right as Linda thinks I work too much and my
partners don't think I work enough.
