Time is getting short and I have put off to the “last minute” writing my bio. I seem to recall doing much the same
thing in high school. C’est la vie.
After graduation I attended Miami of Ohio where I received a B.S. in Education. (The "I see Jane I see Dick" book
was created there.) My junior year I spent at a university in France and fell in love with the country and the
people. That has been a very important part of my life. After graduation I taught French to elementary children
when it was just a beginning program. We wrote our own syllabus.
After getting married and children I went back to France to school and came back and taught classes at the
community college and high school. I vowed they would never be boring.
My husband and I have 4 children only because I skipped 3. The caboose was identical twin boys which I told the
doctor was impossible because I was a twin. He simply said that he hadn’t been taught that in medical school.
Our oldest is a daughter who graduated from Dartmouth and is now living in Armenia working for the state Dept.
She and her husband have 2 children. Our oldest son also graduated from Dartmouth . He and his wife have a 2
year old and are expecting triplets, gasp. As you can see, we are going to double the number of grandchildren
from 3 to 6. One of our twin boys got married this summer and the other is still “playing the field”.one graduated
from Hamilton college and the other from Washington U.
I am really looking forward to seeing everyone and catching up with classmates.
A bientot, Sally Hopkins Hirschey
